Transportation Director directs, develops, and implements overall operations of a transportation network including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff. Develops and directs operational policies and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency in all transportation activities. Being a Transportation Director monitors transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems and achieve efficiencies. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to forecast and meet capacity needs. Additionally, Transportation Director oversees the acquisition and oversight of transportation providers. Requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Transportation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Facility transportation’s primary responsibility is for the safety of our residents. It will be their responsibility to meet the transportation needs of the residents and facility. This does include variable hours and weather situations. The driver will have the responsibility to maintain facility vehicles, including maintenance and coordinating repairs. They will also maintain any required records including mileage and maintenance. They will assist in loading, unloading, and escorting residents to and from various appointments and facilities.
Qualifications include a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and must be at least 21 years of age. Driver must be CPR certified,CNA preferred, Long-term care or geriatrics experience preferred. Time management and the ability to work under tight time frames is necessary.
