Transportation Director directs, develops, and implements overall operations of a transportation network including safety, compliance, equipment, and staff. Develops and directs operational policies and procedures to ensure safety and efficiency in all transportation activities. Being a Transportation Director monitors transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems and achieve efficiencies. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to forecast and meet capacity needs. Additionally, Transportation Director oversees the acquisition and oversight of transportation providers. Requires a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Transportation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Sentinel Transportation is seeking a Director, Information Technology to join our team. As a valued member of Sentinel Transportation, a Director, Information Technology Manages all aspects of the information technology within Sentinel, using his/her experience and expertise to purchase, maintain, and improve network architecture and infrastructure, telecommunications, and other technologies within Sentinel. Conducts research regarding best practices within the transportation and related industries in order to develop and implement new technologies that will improve the effectiveness and/or efficiencies of communication, management, and/or operations within Sentinel. Provides onsite technical support to Sentinel’s internal users regarding computer applications and hardware, and works with external contractors to resolve complex service or software problems.
