  • Duties

    • Implement the organization's Information Security Program. Evaluate the effectiveness of the Information Security Program.
    • Ensure proper procedures for marking documents and declassifying in accordance with Army regulations, policies and procedures. Assist with executing functions relating to the protection, storage, and dissemination of collateral security information.
    • Monitor the operation of Collateral Security for the organization. Monitor classification accountability and transmission and destruction of classified material.
    • Develop, implement, manage, and monitor policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for information and physical security program administration and compliance.
    • Develop, implement, manage, and monitor policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for industrial security program administration and compliance the level and type of classified work to be performed.
    • Develop security policy and design, develop, and evaluate physical security program. Conduct surveys and analyses to identify how critical and vulnerable facilities or sites are and threats against them.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Program and requires the individual obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

    Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

    To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of multi-discipline security program administration as demonstrated by by researching, interpreting and applying security technical methods, policies, regulations, and procedures to administer and/or manage information and physical security programs. Please note: Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

    Education
