Training Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company. Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Being a Training Director develops a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants. Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training. Additionally, Training Director approves new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs. Manages and develops training professionals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Training Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Training Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     About the Position

    The Director of Social Services under the direction of the Regional Director of Social Services is expected to design, implement, and coordinate social service activities and programs within assigned affordable housing complexes. The DSS is responsible for the following duties necessary to successfully support the residents served by LifeSTEPS.

     

    Core Duties Director of Social Services

    • Empower low-income individuals and families to flourish by providing education and resources.
    • Ensure our residents, specifically older adults to have an opportunity to thrive in place through housing and services.
    • Encourage individuals and families through stable housing and supportive evidence-based services to build resilient communities.
    • Maximize the strengths of individuals by providing client assistance, case management, service coordination, and conducting community outreach.

    • Job classification: Non-exempt; 26 hours per week
    • Job Location: Santa Clara, CA
    • Pay: $25.00 - $27.00/hour

     

    Qualifications


    Education and/or Experience and/or License Certification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
    • Two (2) years of experience in a similar environment providing social services.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
    • Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.
