Training Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company. Collaborates with functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs. Being a Training Director develops a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that work for the participants. Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training. Additionally, Training Director approves new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs. Manages and develops training professionals. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Training Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Training Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for a variety of functions related to overseeing managers and supervisors in the Residential/Dorm life, Security, Recreation, and Transportation departments at the training site with 614 students in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
- Hire, train, and coach staff within the department.
- Monitor shift schedules; plan and direct work assignments and schedules of activities. Manage the scheduling and operation of center-sponsored recreation activities and programs.
- Establish, and implement training programs for employees and students regarding safety & security, residential living, and recreation departments.
- Inspect dormitories weekly for quality standards, and coordinate with maintenance to resolve any facility issues.
- Ensure records for the shift and dormitories are maintained up to date. Monitor timeliness and quality of student case note entries in CIS.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three (3) years of related experience, two (2) years of should be in supervisory experience.
- Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
