Training Center Manager manages all operational activities of the training center including staffing, facilities, and coordination with vendors and suppliers. Develops corporate training center strategies and initiatives that reflect the organizations goals. Being a Training Center Manager prepares business plans that support the operation of the center and adhere to budget. May collaborate with educational institutions to provide additional or specialized training. Additionally, Training Center Manager may be responsible for supervising trainers and instructors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Training Center Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Training Center Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The role

    The Training Center Manager (TCM) is responsible for the successful day to day operations of his/her assigned training center(s) within a specific geographical region. The TCM is responsible for maximizing all available resources and for keeping students on time and on budget. The TCM is responsible for creating an environment where every student has access to all ATP resources and can be successful while verifying they meet or exceed ATP and FAA standards.

    Responsibilities

    • Hiring (or contracting), training, reviewing performance and holding accountable the team of Training Support Specialists, Instructors, TC Flight Standards Instructors (Leads), and in some cases CFI Academy Instructors, 2-Year Instructors, and CFI Academy Ground Instructors.
    • Establishing goals in partnership with the Training Support Manager and Regional Director of Training Support, reviewing goals with the team, reporting progress toward the goals, and ultimately achieving the goals.
    • Measure and report progress toward established goals, they will be both qualitative and quantitative
    • Monitor potential Student Completions and use priority scheduling to help students finish on or ahead of the projected completion date.
    • Maximize Checkride utilization and proactively manage the schedule built 3-4 weeks out and monitor the Checkride Tabs for assigned training centers.
    • Maximize aircraft utilization by monitoring Timeline and the weekly flight schedule, work with TSS’s, CFI’s and students to fill in all gaps with scheduled events.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to travel locally when assigned more than one TC
    • Aviation experience, specifically an understanding of FAA Certifications
    • College Degree (or requisite experience)
    • Customer service oriented

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    • FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, and/or CFI Pilot Certificates (Preferred)
    • Documented and demonstrated leadership development training
