JOB SUMMARY:
Directly assist Project Managers using knowledge of civil engineering, drafting, highway signing and mathematical principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate and supervise work. Attend meetings with General Contractors and Owners.
2. Examine highway/roadway plans and structural shop drawings to gather general information required for sign fabrication and installation.
3. Prepare legible and accurate shop drawings and calculation sheets by hand or by computer aided design (CAD) system.
4. Apply knowledge of engineering principles and federal, state and local standards to verify accuracy of drawings and calculations. Make any adjustments or changes necessary.
5. Submit drawings and calculations to contractors and agencies for approval.
6. Perform follow up activities to resolve problems related to approvals.
7. Perform field survey elevations and layout.
8. Compile quantities of work performed from foreman’s daily reports to use for billing customers.
9. Contact customers to verify item quantities for billing and resolves any discrepancies.
10. Assist Senior Project Manager.
11. Perform other work related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, etc. required.
Zero to Three years of engineering experience. ***Entry-Level Position***
Read and comprehend highway/roadway plans and specifications.
Utilize CAD, Word and Excel.
Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
