Job Title: Traffic Control Manager

Reports to: Area Manager

Job Summary: The Traffic Control Manager is responsible for scheduling and overall management of a traffic control team (approximately 12-15 employees). The TC Manager will provide support to project managers and area managers to ensure traffic control operations for other work crews (grading, paving, concrete, etc) are in place. This will also consist of ensuring the appropriate equipment, devices and vehicles are arranged for the job sites. Communication and coordination with subcontractors will also be an imperative part of this position. Additionally, when internal crews are all utilized it may be necessary to work with temp agencies or subcontractors to assist.

Job Duties:

• Schedule traffic control operations for all jobsites in the area.
• Ensure or delegate daily routine servicing and safety maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to supplement and set up flagging operations, including advanced warning signs, and flagging traffic.
• Training and development skills.
• Installing and maintaining lane closures on a variety of roadways.
• Moving equipment. IE Message boards, arrow boards, crash trucks, light towers, cones, etc.
• Installing permanent construction signs (occasionally).
• Contribute to the continuous improvements of Palmetto Corps procedures.
• Ensure all paperwork, PPE and vehicle requirements for your allocated jobs are met.
• Maintain inventory and monitor needs of all traffic control equipment.

• Must have 3 or more years traffic control experience.
• Must have scheduling and some managerial experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan days and weeks ahead.
• Basic computer skills necessary.
• SCDOT Work Zone Supervisor Certification preferred.
• SCDOT Flagger Instructor Certification preferred.
