Traffic Director leads and directs the traffic department to efficiently and safely move materials and products to designated destinations. Develops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize delivery costs. Being a Traffic Director evaluates and selects appropriate transportation carriers and routes. Resolves delivery issues for both internal and external customers. Additionally, Traffic Director monitors, analyzes, and reviews loss and damage claims and makes recommendations for improved safety. Oversees costs and processes to adhere to budgets. Ensures compliance with all DOT/OSHA guidelines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Traffic Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. This role involves managing all aspects of traffic signals, from design to maintenance, while pursuing new business opportunities to enhance profitability and service quality.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, design, and manage the installation of traffic signal systems, ensuring they meet all rules and regulations.
    • Oversee the installation, upkeep, and improvement of traffic signals, ensuring projects are finished on time and within budget.
    • Lead and train a team of traffic signal technicians and maintenance staff.
    • Schedule projects smartly to make sure we're working efficiently and effectively.
    • Push forward our efforts to attract more traffic signal business by responding to RFPs, networking at industry events, and seeking new business opportunities.
    • Build and maintain good relationships with local city/state officials, contractors, and other partners to help our projects succeed and benefit the community.
    • Follow strict safety rules and procedures in all our work to keep a safe workplace.
    • Handle the budget, predict financial needs, and manage funds wisely to keep our finances in check.

    Qualifications:

    • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience and relevant certifications.
    • At least 5 years of leadership experience in traffic signal design, installation, and maintenance with a good understanding of industry regulations and standards.
    • Demonstrated success in managing teams and projects in a technical environment.
    • Solid business acumen with an ability to drive revenue growth in the traffic signal sector.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and navigating complex negotiations.
