Traffic Clerk, Sr. jobs in Raleigh, NC
Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. The Traffic Controller will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as providing assistance to motorists in need. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to think quickly in order to respond to any traffic-related issues.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust signal timing to maintain efficient traffic flow.
- Respond to emergency situations such as accidents, stalled vehicles, and other incidents that may affect traffic flow.
- Inspect and maintain traffic control devices such as signs, signals, and pavement markings.
- Monitor the performance of traffic control systems and adjust as needed.
- Communicate with other agencies to coordinate traffic control operations.
- Conduct research on traffic patterns and trends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
