Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Provides administrative support by performing general clerical duties (for example, filing, keying, faxing); entering data into multiple systems; scheduling appointments and maintaining appointment logs; and preparing, reviewing, maintaining, and analyzing reports, purchase orders (PO) and other paperwork. Monitors and processes deliveries by scheduling and maintaining log of delivery appointments; checking-in and releasing drivers; tracking late deliveries; and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reports and other paperwork. Provide basic maintenance to equipment (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing paper and toner).
