Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Here at Holman, our Traffic Clerks are key advocates for our employees and proponents of our company culture. While they are directly responsible for local coordination with warehouse and transportation to ensure the completion of shipping/receiving documents accurately and in a timely manner and delegating work out the dispatch window to associates, their value is in their ability to effectively communicate and to build relationships with customers, coworkers, and management. We rely on them for their ability to pay attention to minute details of a project and prioritize tasks, as well as their desire to grow and develop themselves and other employees.

    Shift: 2:15 pm to 10:15 pm Monday through Friday

    Salary: $20.00 per hour

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • Coordinates with warehouse and transportation to ensure the completion of shipping/receiving documents accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ensures the orders are on schedule to meet the daily pick-up schedules in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
    • Verifies and counts products to ensure data accuracy on system.
    • Maintains warehouse management system (WMS) scheduler.
    • Ensures accuracy of all shipping and receiving (B.O.L.) documents.
    • Prints labels for carrier shipments and attaches to Bill of lading.
    • Handles all customers and customer representatives at the dispatch window.
    • Gathers and maintains all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
    • Trains new associates.
    • Ensures that escalated issues are resolved timely and accurately.
    • Delegates work out the dispatch window to associates (full picks, piece picks, loads, and inbounds)
    • Adds trailer moves for yard driver
    • Keeps the schedule up to date
    • Uses SAP to create TO’s for full picks and inbounds
    • Checks in OTR driver with inbounds, outbounds, and empty trailers
    • Completes all paperwork correctly and legibly
    • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
    • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
