Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Objectives of this Role
- Leading crews in shop and on jobsite, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities- Oversee team members daily
- Be available to answer phone calls on and away from jobsites
- Read plans and create a plan to complete the job efficiently
- Review and coordinate project plans with team members and other documentation required for the project
- Setting up the work zone using the appropriate safety standards
- Controlling traffic
- Breaking down and cleaning up the work zone upon completion of the operation
- Operate equipment, including Forklifts, Skid Steer, Truck & Trailer combo
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain and operate equipment
- Responsible for quantity sheets
Skills and Qualifications- Ability to identify problems/issues, generate solutions and make sound decisions using standard procedures.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Report to work at the designated start time.
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Must have strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Pass a pre-employment DOT physical.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
- Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1 years’ experience in the construction field or prior traffic control experience.
