Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - Possess and maintain a current and valid NYS driver’s license throughout the duration of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- Willingness to work out of doors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions;
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 70 pound short lifts and 50 pounds repetitively;
- Ability to work in a highway construction environment where most of the work takes place in and around motor vehicle traffic.
DUTIES:- Assist Traffic Department in the installation AND maintenance of traffic pavement markings and other related traffic control devices on all city streets and parking lots

Schenectady (/skəˈnɛktədi/) is a city in Schenectady County, New York, United States, of which it is the county seat. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 66,135.
