Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities:
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust signal timing to maintain efficient traffic flow.
- Respond to emergency situations such as accidents, stalled vehicles, and other incidents that may affect traffic flow.
- Inspect and maintain traffic control devices such as signs, signals, and pavement markings.
- Monitor the performance of traffic control systems and adjust as needed.
- Communicate with other agencies to coordinate traffic control operations.
- Conduct research on traffic patterns and trends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
