Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Traffic Safety Services, Inc. is seeking a Pavement Marking Supervisor for their Bismark, North Dakota location. The successful candidate will be a dedicated team player with the ability to manage others. This person will be able to direct their teammates in the successful achievement of their project goals, while also interacting politely and respectfully with the contractor, customers, etc. Establishing a strong working relationship with administrative staff will be essential.

    KEY RESPONSILBITIES:

    • Schedule, supervise, and prioritize to effectively utilize resources and to meet customer/client project requirements.
    • Lead, train, motivate, coach and counsel employees to meet the expectations of their positions.
    • Monitor employee performance and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Provide customer/client satisfaction by applying cost effective work practices to ensure job quality and reliability.
    • Meet and maintain key metrics by organizing daily/weekly/monthly duties for all members of your team.
    • Assure the timely completion of all administrative processes, such as mandated annual reviews, expense reports, etc.
    • Maintain Field/Office Responsibilities; 80% in Field and 20% in Office
    • Ensure that safety, quality, training, employee engagement, and retention are the prime focus of the business.
    • Protect the company’s employees, customers, and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents through enforcement of safe work practices in compliance with the Company’s safety policies; help develop safety awareness.
    • Develop relationships with internal and external customers to achieve goals and new business opportunities.
    • Perform field and vehicle inspections, attend pre-bid meetings, meet with clients and work in the field with the team as needed.
    • Monitor daily employee issues including payroll, timekeeping, benefits, time off requests, customer issues, and training requirements.
    • Facilitate teambuilding efforts and regular communications with team members.
    • Engage and support the training of new and current employees to reduce turnover, promote efficiency and reduce labor costs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
    • Requires one to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms.
    • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles.

    QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Requires a valid class B Commercial Driver’s License.
    • Prefer 4 years of Striping experience including equipment operating.
    • 2 years in a leadership role required.
    • Strong mechanical skills a plus.
    • Must be able to and enjoy connecting with field-level customers and contacts.
    • Must take the initiative to build work relationships with your team.
    • Must conduct yourself in a manner promoting a professional atmosphere by being a team player, self-motivated, organized and having a positive attitude.
    • Must have good oral and/or written English communication skills with co-workers, customers, contractors, and engineers.
    • Must have strong math skills.
    • Work week varies - overtime is required when needed.
