Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     • Must have reliable transportation to our office.
    • Use Stop/Slow paddles to control the flow of traffic.
    • Effective communication using a 2-way radio.
    • Provide guidance to ensure that City, State and MUTCD standards are met on every work site.
    • Be able to warn construction/utility workers when approaching vehicles have failed to adhere to the current traffic signals to prevent accidents and injuries to workers and other motorist.
    • Be able to lift 50lbs.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time.
