Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Our Gun Club office is seeking a well-organized, detail-oriented professional who likes the challenge of variety, and possess excellent time management skills to join their team providing Customer Service at the Violations Bureau.

    At the Violations Bureau you will assist customers from all walks of life with processing citations that are filed within Palm Beach County. In this role you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge on traffic citations, reinstating drivers licenses, misdemeanors cases, county ordinances, and much more!     Did you know our Gun Club office is located in the Criminal Justice Complex off of Gun Club Road in West Palm Beach? Due to this unique location near the County Jail, our Gun Club office is the only location that handles first appearance court proceedings. First appearance court proceedings are when people are arrested for allegedly committing crimes, they must be taken before a judge relatively quickly to learn of the charges against them, their constitutional rights, any bail options, and other matters.

    Examples of Essential Functions

    • Cashiers criminal traffic and ordinance violations; reinstates driver's licenses.
    • Scans and updates over-the-counter citations.
    • Sets court hearings.
    • Provides statistical reports; runs collections process and payoff requests; performs other customer service related functions.

    Typical Qualifications

    High school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Bilingual speakers (Spanish) is highly desirable.
