Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. TRAFFIC CLERK: Job description
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Clerk to be part of our Traffic Team.
Job duties:
* Input shipping information into freight systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.).
* Review data regarding customer order, including quantity and type of transportation requested. (e.g., ground, over-night)
* Interact with customers regarding arrangements via email and phone
* Issue instructions to carriers; schedule and monitor carriers to provide on-time pickup and delivery
* Create documents for international and domestic shipments
* Prepare shipping documents and mailing labels, as well as shipping instructions
* Scan labels of outgoing shipments into the system
* Resolve shipping issues
* Validate that orders have arrived to the intended destination by using tracking number and/or find out where it is in transit
* Domestic/International experience
Requirements:
* Strong Organizational skills
* Computer skills: Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook Email
* Communication skills; able to communicate with all customer service team and carriers via phone and email
* Customer service oriented with the ability to operate in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
* Attention to detail, with strong ability to prioritize and execute tasks
