Duties and Responsibilities
(NOTE: **denotes Essential Functions)
- **Under general supervision, provides institutional research and technical support to the Office of Planning, Policy, and Assessment (OPPA).
- **Collects, organizes, and maintains institutional data from various sources including State and Federal databases, student information systems, and surveys to support institutional planning and assessment.
- **Analyzes institutional data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- **Produces regular reports and dashboards for administrators as well as faculty and staff engaged in institutional planning and decision-making.
- **Assists in the implementation of the college-wide program review process of all academic, workforce development, non-credit, and support programs and services.
- **Conducts research studies to support institutional initiatives, accreditation requirements, and grant proposals.
- **Assists in measuring progress towards campus strategic goals and objectives.
- **Collaborates with academic, administrative, and student service units to establish and monitor key performance indicators including, but not limited to enrollment management, student achievement, and job placement.
- **Supports continuous improvement efforts through the use of data-informed decision-making processes.
- **Serves as a resource to administrators, faculty, and staff on data analysis tools, techniques, and interpretation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in statistics, data science, psychology or sociology (with a focus on research methods, data analytics, assessment and evaluation, or educational psychology), education (with 15 credits of coursework in research methods or educational psychology), economics, mathematics or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for administrative, educational, and/or program research, data analysis, and reporting; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of statistics as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and institutional assessment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software.
- Experience using statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or R, or experience using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, or experience in relational databases using programming languages such as SQL.

Desirable Qualifications
- Master's degree (or advanced coursework) in education, statistics, data science, or related field.
- Experience conducting research studies or data analysis in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge about higher education information systems and data warehousing.
- General understanding of database structure and operations.
