About our Team
WHS Strategy and Assurance provides specialised safety services to support operational capability in DSTG. As part of the larger DSTG Research Safety Enabling Capability team, WHS Strategy and Assurance supports safety in Hazardous Chemicals and Radiation, as well as supporting safety systems and incident investigations.
This role is part of the broader Research Safety Team, which is passionate about safety and committed to an inclusive and respectful workplace culture where all our people can achieve their potential.
Our team works collaboratively with scientist from different disciplines to understand, shape, improve and grow safety management across DSTG.

The current vacancy is located in Fishermans Bend, VIC and will report remotely to the DSTG Radiation Safety Officer based in Edinburgh, SA, while working closely with the Research Safety team at Fishermans Bend.
Our Ideal Candidate
As the Radiation Safety Advisor you will have working knowledge of the Australian radiation protection legislation (i.e.
Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Act 1998) and some demonstrated experience in radiation safety. You will have the ability assist with interpreting this legislation.
You will be able to assist in undertaking analysis, and evaluate unique radiation activities for compliance and safety.
As the Radiation Safety Advisor you will be self-motivated, organised, and able to build productive relationships. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and be ready to launch your career in radiation safety.
You will have a passion for radiation safety, enjoy working with unique challenges, and be a positive and collaborative team member.
