    Position Summary:

    We are in search of an experienced Senior Corporate Controller with strong accounting and analytical skills. The chosen candidate will be tasked, alongside the CFO, to build the accounting function of the company, which includes managing general ledger entries, maintaining accrual schedules, conducting daily/monthly/yearly account reconciliations, engaging in financial forecasting and budgeting, record keeping and preparation, as well as supervising and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization. This role requires the ability to lead an accounting team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operational details.

    The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, dependable, possess strong problem-solving skills, exhibit attention to detail, and be excited to contribute as part of a collaborative team within a startup environment with high growth potential.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of state and federal cannabis financial regulations
    • Execute all aspects of inventory accounting and cost tracking
    • Implement policies, procedures, and processes to ensure financial and regulatory compliance
    • Manage and maintain the chart of accounts, overseeing standard journal posting and monthly account reconciliations in areas such as A/P, payroll, bank, prepaids, fixed assets, and income tax
    • Establish and maintain internal controls and safeguards for revenue, costs, and budgets
    • Manage bank accounts, cash accounts, and purchase order management
    • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, account reconciliations, and complete monthly close procedures
    • Responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closing journal entries, adhering to Section 280E of the IRC for recording and allocating direct and indirect costs
    • Must be well experienced and proficient in the application of GAAP to all areas of bookkeeping, payroll, budgets, statistical analysis, probability and financial statements

    Experience and Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in public accounting
    • CPA license required
    • Degree in Accounting or closely related field
    • Cannabis accounting experience highly preferred but not required
    • Tax and audit experience required
    • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks highly preferred
    • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
    • Adaptability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks
    • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
    • Strong business acumen
    • Minimum age of 21
    • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening (excluding THC)
    • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry

    Compensation:

    • Salary of $160,000.00-$175,000.00/yearly based on qualifications and skillset
    • Full benefits after 90 days including medical, dental, vision and paid time off
