    As part of a dynamic Performance Excellence Team, the Quality Assurance Program Specialist will support activities related to external audits, best practice assessments, closed loop quality improvement plans, and education and training on new and updated rules and regulations. This role helps to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest level of care.

    Accountabilities Include
    :
    Performs Essential Job Duties
    • Develops, facilitates, and conducts best practice assessments as assigned.
    • Works closely with site leaders to ensure appropriate utilization and compliance with all program requirements. Maintains positive working relationships with all key stakeholders.
    • Maintains knowledge and ensures that policies and procedures are developed and implemented per organizational, state, and federal requirements (i.e., OHA, HRSA/Medicare/Medicaid…)
    • Works in close collaboration with the La Clinica Compliance Manager.
    • Immediately notifies Compliance Manager and Chief Quality Officer of any compliance or audit concerns and assists in preparation of corrective action plans with appropriate operations managers/directors.
    • Ensure timely and successful implementation of any new guidance or rule changes.
    • Routinely reviews data and related reports from all points of service to ensure compliance and identify trends for improvement.
    • Works with Process Improvement Manager to assess, identify or facilitate any system improvement issues.
    • Maintains confidentiality of organizational information.
    • Assists with new hire orientation related to compliance.
    • Performs and documents monthly monitoring of La Clinica Board Members through the OIG Exclusion Database.
    • Ensures and facilitates Board of Pharmacy (BOP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), and Business Licenses updates/renewals across all sites
    • Tracks license and certification expirations for all sites and according to established workflows.
    • Manages Compliance-related documentation.
    • Assists in external audits, development, and submission of corrective action plans with key stakeholders.
    • Co-facilitates the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) site visit and assists in annual FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act) Application preparation.
    • Completes assigned trainings via La Clinica’s learning module system (Relias) by required due date.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    :
    Must be able to interact with a variety of individuals at various levels under stressful circumstances while exercising sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy; work productively both independently and in a team setting; communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing to groups and individuals.

    Education and/or Experience:
    Required:
    • Minimum: High School Diploma
    • Three to five years of experience related health care field
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
    • Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise, and positive outcomes in difficult
      interactions
    • Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC)
    • Conducting research and having the ability to articulate requirements at a high level
    Preferred:
    • Health Care experience
    • Greenbelt certification
    • Certified in HealthCare Compliance (CHC)


    Language Skills:

    Must have the ability to communicate with clarity, both verbally and in writing; read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, regulations, policies, and procedure manuals; and create professional business documents. Preferred bilingual English/Spanish.
