    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Prepares exhibits, reports, and presentations to illustrate findings and recommendations.
    • Performs engineering calculations to determine appropriate water quality treatment selection related to surface water and drainage.
    • Maintains current knowledge of local, state, and federal water quality management regulations.
    • Develops surface water hydrologic modeling or computations.
    • Coordinates with government agencies, local authorities, contractors, and internal team members.
    • Participates in design activities and meetings between project team members, vendors, subcontractors, and client managers.  
    • Participates in project decisions regarding technical approaches, feasibility, cost, construction approaches, and scheduling performance.  
    • Resolves a wide range of water quality treatment issues in creative ways.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering  
      • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred
    • 15 to 20 years of experience
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ)
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships with team members and project managers.  
    • Ability to mentor entry and mid-level engineers.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Background and/or experience with engineering analysis and design of various project types including a combination of:
      • Strong knowledge of statewide and local NPDES
      • WQMP, SUSMP, SWDR and SWPPP
      • Stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling; stormwater and drainage infrastructure 
      • Low impact development/green infrastructure
      • Preparing project scope and fee proposals
    • Working knowledge of software programs and techniques to develop Rational Method or Unit Hydrograph results, which can include: 
      • AutoCAD Civil 3D / Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Bentley SewerGems (StormCAD), SWMM/XPSWMM, Microsoft Office
    • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

    Base salary range:

    $104,560 to $127,795 per year based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

     

    Physical requirements:

    Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
