Senior Project Quality Manager

  • We are hiring a Sr. Project Quality Manager, with a strong background in quality management systems and processes in a technical environment, to join the Schneider Electric CS&Q Global Quality Management team in Foxboro, MA USA, reporting directly to the Global Director of Quality.

     

    As a Sr. Project Quality Manager, you will have responsibility for global functional coordination of a team of Project Quality Leaders and Product Quality Managers to guarantee the coverage of all new product development projects, as well as for leading the customer claim management process and activities for existing products in serial production. You will have a crucial role in developing and implementing quality management strategies and processes to meet project objectives and quality deliverables. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards of quality and safety, ensure compliance with regulations and standards, drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle and to instill the right Quality Culture and Mindset according to our Global Quality strategy and Schneider Electric core values.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

    • End-to-End Customer Experience (CX) & Quality Excellence and Safety Offer for all new projects.
    • Provide Quality leadership across the division and coordinate operational strategies and deployment for effective quality processes and tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, Risk Assessment).
    • Close the loop between KPI’s from the field and improvements to be monitored during new product development process.
    • Timely and effectively management of customer complaint actions (Containment, Business Risk Escalation, Expert Assessment, OSA, etc.).
    • Support the design, development and product launch into production to ensure final product meets all agreed customer functional requirements, reliability and confidence levels through a thorough structured development and qualification process.
    • Responsible to develop a quality strategy and to define and achieve quality goals & KPI targets.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, highlighting project and product quality performance, trends and areas for improvement and present to key stakeholders and management team.
    • Collaborate with project teams to define quality plans and strategies based on project scope, objectives and stakeholders’ requirements, to assure flawless launches of new Hardware, Firmware and Software projects.
    • Encourage knowledge transfer between and within the disciplines and from Project to Project.
    • Evaluate and Approve milestone/gate project reviews, risk management and quality alerts for all projects and product families.
    • Develop and implement quality assurances and control activities to monitor project performance, identify deviations and implement corrective actions.
    • Provide training and coaching for the application of project quality management processes and methodologies, to ensure delivery of high-quality projects.
    • Pursuing (i.e., requesting, supporting, tracking), the application of SE processes and procedures, quality methods and tools within the line of business.
    • Establish, facilitate and publish Lessons Learned related to projects and validate they have been used as an input to the D-FMEA and P-FMEA to reduce RPNs and respected.

    • Review identification of Design/Process FMEA risks and promote actions to remove high risk priority number (RPN) for projects.

    • Acquires and maintains expert-level knowledge with regards to SE Offer Safety Process and Procedures

    • Maintains frequent and effective communication on quality topics, ensuring close partnership and transparency between engineering, quality, manufacturing and business partners.

    • Monitors, Tracks and Implement actions to deliver product performance and quality KPIs.

    • Lead customer communication and escalation process to manage major customer issues.

    • Uses quantitative and qualitative data as inputs for recommending and driving quality-related solutions at the plants to achieve customer-focused expectations for product performance.

    • Provides support to manufacturing plants to establish structured problem-solving and lead cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues up to preventive actions.

     

    Required Competencies:

    • B.S. Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
    • 15 yrs. of Experience in Project Quality Management, Manufacturing Quality, New Product Development Projects or NPI, Software/Firmware development and Software Quality.
    • Minimum 5 yrs. of experience managing high skilled employees.
    • Strong knowledge of Project and Quality Tools – Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D-FMEA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA), Parameter Diagram, Fault Tree Analysis, PPAP, Control Plan, SPC, Change Management, Risk Management, MSA-.
    • Extensive knowledge of problem-solving and statistical analysis methods & tools (8D, A3, PDCA, 5 Why’s, Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagram, DOE, Regression Analysis, Weibull).
    • Six Sigma – Green or Black Belt
    • Quality Management System experience (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3).
    • Automotive OEM and Tier 1 experience.
    • Strong Communication and Presentation skills – proficient in MS Office (i.e., PowerPoint).
    • Demonstrated team leadership, teamwork, decision making and conflict management skills.
    • Project Management PMP certification – preferred.
    • Travel domestically or internationally – 25%.
