Supply Planner, Santa Maria, CA

Fresh Venture Foods is a fresh-cut produce processing company located on the central coast of California. Fresh Venture Foods produces ready to eat products for Gold Coast Packing and Babe Farms servicing major brands in both food service and food retail industries.

Primary Purpose:

The Supply Planner is responsible for all aspects of raw ingredients demand planning, and inventory replenishment. This includes management product stock levels, raw product requirement planning, and procurement.

The Supply Planner will collaborate with the production and management team to support and contribute to continuous improvement projects and objectives for all active products including multiple new products & projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing large amounts of raw products, tracking, reconciling, analysis and costing. A highly collaborative individual with a proactive approach who tackles problem solving and decision making with a strong analytical and data-driven mindset.

Within this fast-paced Food Processing facility, the Supply Planner role will require strong analytical, organizational, time management, project management and detail orientation skills to fulfill company’s production objectives. Duties will include a hands-on approach to meet these objectives and will consist of Demand Planning, and Inventory Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Supply & Production Planning Oversight; Monitor production yields and efficiency
• Interact frequently with sales, procurement, production, quality assurance team, with a collaborative, team focused approach
• Inventory Management; Manage inventory levels of all raw materials utilizing inventory management software ERP
• Manage raw material procurement timelines
• Update Raw product file throughout the day and monitor changes in sales demand, and inventory supply to make requests for adjustments on raw product deliveries.
• Run a Meeting to go over Current supplies and sales of raw commodities. (Excel)
• Create a raw product preliminary demand sheet (Excel)
• Update raw file as new SKU’s/Commodities are Added
• Oversee inventory process and metrics to ensure inventory and delivery of materials meets production goals.
• Analyze and plan for materials with unusual lead times, storage needs or special handling.
• Provides occasional guidance, some of which is technical
• Participates in mock recall traceability exercises throughout year and during food safety audits.
• Ad hoc analysis and reports as assigned
• Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts.
• Participate in and present information in production planning meetings
• Additional related duties as required

Required Skills, Experience and Education of the Supply Planner:

• Minimum of 2 Years’ experience in Supply Planning within the food or perishable product industry.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred however a combination of experience and education will be considered
• Professional Communication Skills (Verbal, Interpersonal and Written)
• Outstanding Time Management, Detail Orientation, Project Management, Analytical, Organizational
• Advanced MS Office Skills (Word, Excel, Access & Outlook) in addition to ERP
• Ability to efficiently work within a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and simultaneous projects
• Experienced in production planning with several new product lines
• Strong knowledge of Food Quality & Food Safety Guidelines
• Recall Traceability experience

• Lift up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to grasp, grip, and reach with hands and arms
• Sit or stand at a computer terminal and occasionally walk throughout shift

Working Conditions and Environment (Travel, work hours, or conditions)

• Primarily office work environment and occasional exposure to a refrigerated warehouse and processing facility
• Moderate noise level
• Schedule flexibility as needed but primarily normal business hours
• Must be able to work over-time, weekends and some holidays

Required PPE: anti-slip shoes, hearing, head protection and PPE for GMP environment when entering the processing and warehouse facility, otherwise, business casual attire.
