We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Data Science Intern, specializing in supply chain inventory management. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply data science techniques to analyze and optimize inventory strategies for a vast array of SKUs (items and locations). As part of the Supply Chain team, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, and contribute to real-world projects with significant impact.
Project Description:
The primary focus of this internship is to analyze and segment approximately 4.6 million SKUs to support the creation of inventory management strategies. Leveraging your knowledge of supply chain, skills in Python programming, and data visualization tools, you will conduct in-depth analysis of SKU data and develop segmentation strategies based on various factors including sales contribution, demand variability, margin analysis, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clean, preprocess, and analyze large-scale SKU datasets using Python programming and relevant libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
2. Partner with key stakeholders to identify key performance metrics for inventory segmentation, including sales contribution, coefficient of variation, lead time variability, profitability, and demand patterns.
3. Utilize statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to segment SKUs into meaningful clusters based on identified metrics.
4. Develop data visualizations and dashboards using Power BI to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
5. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, providing exposure to decision-makers at the highest level within the organization.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, finance, and operations, to understand business requirements and incorporate domain knowledge into analysis.
7. Document methodologies, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise reports for internal and executive review.
Pay Rate:
Pay range for this internship is $25 to $28 per hour DOE

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis and manipulation.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior experience or coursework in supply chain management, inventory optimization, or related areas is a plus.
