On Target Executive Search is looking for a Staff Accountant in Los Angeles with construction industry experience. The Staff Accountant will assist the Accounting Manager and Controller in all areas of financial reporting. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting systems, practices, and procedures to produce accurate and timely financial statements and management reports. In this role, you will be required to meet stringent deadlines in a variety of accounting and financial activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end tax preparation, and budgeting/forecasting support. This position requires superior interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication. This role is full-time and onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Gain and proliferate a full understanding of specific financial reporting and general ledger structures.
• Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing procedures.
• Lead activities related to the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with daily reporting and activities.
• Complete all monthly and quarterly financial reporting and bank compliance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform budget and forecasting activities.
• Analyze departmental activities to develop more efficient procedures and utilization of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Promptly respond to inquiries from Owners, Controller, and Department Managers regarding profit/loss statements, special financial reports, and other information.
• Recommend the development and implementation of new policies and procedures aimed at workflow and process improvements.
• Provide training to new and existing staff.
• Assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with other special projects.

Requirements:

· High School Diploma.

· Bachelor's degree preferred or work equivalent.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial reporting and general ledger activities.

· Construction background or experience preferred.

· PC proficient

· Experience with M3, Yardi, or other large, automated accounting systems a plus.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong Interpersonal, and customer service skills.

· Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines.
