Purchasing Assistant
Our Rutland, VT client is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant for their team! You’ll play a key role in procuring materials so the company can produce its high-quality metal and stone home décor products.
Responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant

• Ensure quantity and delivery date of purchased materials meet production scheduling needs
• Establish schedules in accordance with master schedule
• Monitor inventory levels and issue requisitions for materials
• Select new vendors, negotiate material prices, assess market conditions, and resolve delivery problems
• Research the marketplace to obtain the highest quality product at the lowest cost
• Exercise judgment on quantities, material substitutions, and delivery issues
• Perform other related tasks as assigned or required

Qualifications of the Purchasing Assistant

• Previous purchasing experience
• Computer proficiency
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational, negotiation, and decision-making skills
