Top Purchasing Executive leads procurement and purchasing operations and develops strategic plans to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Top Purchasing Executive fosters collaboration with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels.     What You Will Be Doing
    This Commodity Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of suppliers within the Iron Castings segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and post-production phases. This position will be based out of either Hagerstown, MD or Greensboro, NC, and will report to the Head of Castings Purchasing North America.

    Responsibilities will include:
    • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
    • Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Iron Castings segment
    • Contribute to segment business plan & be an active member in the global network of Buyers
    • Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
    • Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
    • Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management targets (QDCFTSR)
    • Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team
    • Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
    • Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production and post-production phases
    • Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers
    What We Are Looking For
    • 1-5 years of purchasing experience, or recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or similar
    • Desire to improve in or learn the strategic side of purchasing (i.e. negotiation, supplier sourcing, contracts, etc.)
    • Experience within the manufacturing industry is an advantage
    • Good business acumen, agile in way of working
    • Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
