Under administrative direction, the Director of Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing will serve as a division head overseeing the planning, implementing, and directing of the purchasing and procurement activities for the City of El Paso. The responsibilities of this position encompass four main areas: Centralized Purchasing Management, Goal Setting and Budget Management, Personnel Supervision, and Professional Representation.

The hiring range for this position is from $108,740 - $201,600 annually. The City of El Paso offers a team-focused environment and a comprehensive benefits package, such as City pension, life insurance, vacation and sick leave days, City holidays, birthday holiday, health insurance options and a deferred compensation program.
Qualified applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or related field, and six years of professional materials management, purchasing, or procurement experience, including two years of supervisory experience. Additionally, within one year of appointment, the candidate should obtain valid certification as a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) from the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council.
