JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Executive Assistant serves as the primary administrative support person in the Executive Offices of the University of Vermont Health Network and/or University of Vermont Medical Center. The incumbent will typically support one President level position, two University of Vermont Health Network/Medical Center Executives or one Network/Medical Center Executive and a large organizational function. The Executive Assistant performs traditional and advanced administrative functions to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization with a high degree of confidentiality.

Support of Nursing Department Communications:

• Monthly Nursing Newsletter
• Quarterly Nursing Town Halls
• Internal Nursing Website
• Contributions to Senior Collaborative Leadership Team Monthly Communications
• Coordination, editing and production of content for above forums.
• Liaison with Communications
• Tracking/ sharing key nursing stories, events and recognition.

Cross-cover Executive Administrative support team

• Provides coverage for other Executive Assistants as needed for planned or unplanned absences to maintain smooth operation of the Executive Office
• Preparation for nursing Strategic planning sessions/ Advances

Support individual functions and projects for Chief Nursing Officer Team Members

• Coordination of Nursing Awards (i.e., Daisy, Bee, etc.) and Nursing Week Event planning
• Coordination of Clinical Advancement Pinning recognition
• Coordination of Administrator-On-Call duties and cross-coverage
• Onboarding new Team members
• Meeting coordination/scheduling (specifically complex meetings with larger numbers of people or people outside of UVMMC
• Meeting agendas, minutes for cross organizational nursing projects, in addition to Workforce Redesign, Nurse Executive Council, Chief Nursing Office/Nurse Director Meetings

EDUCATION:

Associate's degree in business, office management or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Five to seven years of progressively responsible office experience in order to have gained the necessary interpersonal skills to work effectively with executive leadership.
