Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing accurate and timely financial information to management. This is a key leadership role within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings
- Provide guidance and support to departmental managers on financial matters
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in public accounting or a large corporate environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including proficiency in Xero and experience with IFRS
- Thorough understanding of GAAP principles and regulatory reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
