    As a Product Design, Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of our company. You will work on complex initiatives at the intersection of finance and technology, creating user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing experiences that align with our business objectives.

    This position offers the opportunity to lead product design initiatives across multiple touchpoints within our product portfolio, contribute to design and product strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development.


    Outcomes and Activities:

    • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
    • Drive the development of intuitive and visually appealing user experiences across multiple platforms with minimal direction.
    • Facilitate information-gathering and ideation sessions to understand business objectives, user needs, and constraints.
    • Use design thinking and Lean UX tools and methodologies to generate results in a human-centered, rapid, and iterative way.
    • Design interaction models, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that promote ease of use and optimize how customers interact with our products.
    • Use strong storytelling and presentation skills to communicate complex design concepts & decisions, clearly and persuasively, across different audiences at varying levels of the organization with minimal conflict. Be able to articulate the various design options considered, pros and cons, and the rationale for the chosen option.
    • Balance user needs, the needs of the business and the capabilities of technology. Negotiate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders on the team.
    • Advocate for and find ways to include customer feedback throughout the product development process. Validate solutions through user feedback and usability testing methods, consolidate findings, and iterate feedback into design solutions. Draft research plans and surveys. Synthesize and compile research results.
    • Communicate research insights and reasoning through deliverables like personas, experience maps, experience visions, and service blueprints.
    • Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
    • Leverage insights to design new experiences or iterate on existing ones.
    • Establish and maintain product design standards/libraries and guidelines for consistency. Work with our development partners to streamline implementation and to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
    • Deliver feedback for less senior designers on visual and interaction design. Serve as quality control on design deliverables.
    • Contribute to the growth of the Product Design team and foster a collaborative team spirit within the company.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • A mastery of the UI/UX lifecycle, including design research, user experience and visual design, and detailed design implementation.
    • A deep understanding of human-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
    • Expert skills in prototyping & iterating on complex digital interface designs for multiple channels and device types at all levels of fidelity.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
    • A dedication to collaboration and working closely with team members and other stakeholders.
    • Extensive experience auditing and evaluating customer experiences using quantitative and qualitative methods to identify opportunities to improve customer and business outcomes. Experience planning and conducting user research is preferred. Experience synthesizing research findings to generate insights and identify opportunities to improve product experience. Experience creating research results summaries and models, like personas, experience maps, storyboards, or service blueprints.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to stakeholders at all levels. A graceful style when receiving feedback.
    • A passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and emerging design practices.
    • A deep understanding of contemporary design and development methodologies (including responsive design principles, design libraries/systems). Figma experience is preferred.
    • Experience working in an agile environment, the financial space, and editing/proofreading are a huge plus.

Collaborates effectively with technical and design teams to deliver amazing products to market efficiently with quality. Deeply understands end-to-end platforms and how changes impact the enterprise, applications and the overall technical ecosystem.
    • Transformational Leader: Communicates, partners, and influences across teams to deliver winning product experiences and outcomes. Creates deep partnerships and trust through transparency and inspires partners to collaborate and win together. Embraces change and guides others in managing the impact of change.

    Requirements:

    • College degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience in the design field.
    • 5 years of experience in UX or product design; 2 years' experience in a lead designer capacity.
    • A proactive self-starter who's comfortable with ambiguity, able to work independently, quickly and reliably in a fast-paced, creative environment with a keen attention to detail.
    • A strong portfolio of work showcasing exceptional user experiences and exemplifying the requirements above (portfolio site or PDF).

    Targeted Compensation: $155,000 - $185,000 base salary an annual bonus plan.

    This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b/ H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
