As the Patient Services Coordinator for Banner Home Health and Hospice, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative assistance and in hospice operations such as admission, scheduling, billing, and contracting. This is a hybrid position - Thursday - Monday 7:30am - 4:00pm, with an in-office rotation every two weeks.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing support for the daily operations of a department, function, or center to ensure smooth workflow and operation. This position is responsible for scheduling employees and clients to ensure full caseloads, minimize travel time and mileage while observing patient/family specific needs. The incumbent is responsible for researching problems with visit and billing activities and make necessary corrections to ensure clean claim. This position partners with clinical care team to ensure seamless experience for the patient and their family across the entire continuum of their treatment.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Schedules all direct care staff to ensure full caseloads, minimize travel time and mileage while observing patient/family specific needs. Updates schedules as changes occur. Maintains accurate employee schedules and schedule new clients appropriately. Notifies staff of assignments.
2. Optimizes patient experience by using effective customer service. Communicates continually with patients, other departments, referral networks and providers to ensure appropriate plans and protocols are followed. Uses discretion and is attentive to issues of customer confidentiality. Demonstrates skills in pro-active resolution and attempts to resolve scheduling conflicts.
3. May manage the medical record for the assigned area, including coordination with hospitals, practice offices and other ancillary services to obtain needed records.
4. Assists in department management processes included but not limited to: payroll, special projects, reports, training & education.
5. Researches discrepancies between visit and billing activities, when required. Works with supervisor, patient financial services, intake, and insurance to resolve the issue and adjust activity as indicated.
6. Generates daily operational reports to reconcile visits statuses and communicates the information to the appropriate team member. Organizes patient start of care, tracks, files, and provides appropriate documentation to staff.
7. Provides phone coverage when requested/assigned. Provides back-up to other functions as requested/assigned. Performs data entry and maintains employee and client information. Provides customer service to all internal and external customers.
8. Maintains high quality and accurate scheduling of clinician and client schedules with physician orders and appropriate authorizations. The incumbent must maintain excellent customer service internally and externally and make sure that all data is entered accurately and timely for billing purposes. The incumbent must prioritize duties when, on occasion, needs conflict. Unusual problems with clients/families or employees are referred to the next level of management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a general knowledge of healthcare administration as normally obtained through the completion of an associate’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field. Skills and abilities normally gained with three to five years of experience in home health, similar home care services or related field. Proficient knowledge of clerical and administrative services. Excellent communication skills, highly organized and responsive.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
