Top Patient Care Services Executive directs, plans, develops, and implements patient care programs and services. Creates and implements policies and procedures for care delivery. Being a Top Patient Care Services Executive manages all clinical patient care functions including nursing services, and ancillary services such as radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, rehabilitation and social services. Monitors the performance of patient care services, benchmarks the performance against government agency standards, and implements changes as necessary. JOB GOAL: To promote effective performance and delivery of quality care through supporting and encouraging clinical staff by providing direct supervision, and to participate in the review and establishment of agency policies to fulfill program objectives and to ensure quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse through the Alabama State Board of Nursing; BSN preferred and
2. Have had at least three (3) years of operational or program administration experience in home health, hospice, or related programs; and
3. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) preferred; and
4. Possess and maintain a current CPR Certification; and
5. Must have and maintain a current Alabama driver’s license; and
6. Must have and maintain current liability insurance on vehicle; and
7. Must successfully complete the post job offer physical and submit to periodic tuberculin skin tests or chest x-rays at agency expense.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess an understanding of all aspects of palliative care and issues related to
end-of-life care.
2. Comprehensive knowledge and well-developed skills in:
a. Medication and Pharmacology
b. Pain and Symptom Management
c. Psychology of Loss

A. Management Responsibilities
1. Participates in the review and establishment of agency policies to fulfill program objectives and to ensure quality patient care.
2. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team participating in monitoring compliance with:
3. Collaborates with the Compliance Director to conduct Quality Improvement assessment and implementation.
4. Participates in the recruitment, employment, and orientation of new clinical staff.

7. Performs specific assignments and participates in various projects as directed
by the CEO.

B. Supervisory Responsibilities
1. Supervises the delivery of hospice services provided to the patient and family through the direct supervision and scheduling of Team Leaders, Triage Nurse, On-Call staff, and Health Information Coordinator.
2. Monitors the weekly interdisciplinary group meeting to facilitate the coordination of patient care by ensuring the following:
3. Promotes effective performance and delivery of quality care through supporting and encouraging clinical staff.
4. Conducts quarterly and annual reviews of all team members directly supervised.
5. When necessary, share in providing 24-hour, seven days a week coverage to patients and families, and is available to see Hospice patients as scheduled.
