Job Summary/Overview
The Network Administrator I is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the corporate networks. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware and communication links. This position plays a critical role in the operation of the corporate enterprise networks and is an entry-level Network position within the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides network implementation and support to corporate operations
- Remains current with new and emerging Network infrastructure technology and security standards
- Configures and installs various Network devices and services within the Company Enterprise Network and other corporate entity Networks (i.e. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, and QoS)
- Provides technical Help Desk Tier-2 support as needed
- Escalates Network related issues to the Network Administrator II and the Network and Server Operations Manager, as needed
- Helps evaluate and recommend Network improvements and system upgrades
- Understands IPv4/v6 addressing, performs addressing management
- Provides Network support to Enterprise, VPN, and Wi-Fi users
- Assists with maintenance of servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings for all corporate Information Technology (IT) systems
- Develops and monitors policies for use of network resources
- Participates in business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, performs failover testing, ensures recovery time objectives (RTOs) are met
- Evaluates and recommends security improvements and system upgrades
- Monitors system resource utilization, trends, and Network capacity planning
- Helps troubleshoots network performance issues
- Documents processes, procedures, and support instructions for employees and IT personnel
- Ensures that timely and accurate notification of Network issues are being communicated to the business and that all outages are being escalated accordingly with IT personnel and vendor/carrier partners
- Ensures all Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) are completed accurately and timely, with the ability to present to IT leadership
- Participates in change control routine, documenting all changes/additions to Network infrastructure to ensure minimal disruption to production system
- Performs on-call work as necessary, which may include after-hours (nights and weekends)
- Monitors system resource utilization, trending, and Network capacity planning
- Evaluates and recommends security improvements and system upgrades
- Performs all duties in adherence to company standards
- Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
- Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors and co-workers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
- Network or IT-related certifications preferred
- 2 years of practical experience in Information Technology required
- 2 years of practical experience in Network Administration/Engineering environments required
- Experience with Microsoft Networking and Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP, Exchange Server
- Experience with Cisco switches, routers and other network devices
- Experience with Watchguard and SonicWall Firewalls and VPN
- Experience with Ubiquiti, Ruckus, and other enterprise Wi-Fi systems
Skills and Knowledge:
- Must be able to read, write and understand English and have good verbal and written communication skills
- Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
- Proven network operations and network performance analysis skills
- Hands-on equipment installation and troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and with a team
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to follow complicated instructions accurately
- Familiarity with network and server management and monitoring tools
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability
- Security oriented; able and willing to promote security initiatives in the organization

Certifications or Licenses
Certifications: Network or IT-related certifications preferred
A valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving history is required
