Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of Materials Management that includes GMP Warehouse and Inventory, Lab Inventory/Support, and purchasing.
Reporting to Sr. Manager of Lab Services.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities including, but not limited to, receiving and storing of sensitive and general use goods, management of inventory levels, ensuring the safe receipt and delivery of goods, and maintaining and securing the warehouse
- Responsible for all aspects of the materials management functions of the GMP warehouse
- Responsible for Inventory/Raw Materials Management
- Purchase inventory as needed to maintain lab operations
- Support inventory forecasting using modules
- Maintain a culture of safety within the overall warehouse and lab environment
- Ensure materials, supplies and miscellaneous receipts are received, processed, documented, and maintained in accordance with SOPs, including the handling of temperature sensitive and hazardous materials
- Responsible for continuous fulfilment of inventory and Kanban requests as flows and demands fluctuate
- Establish and actively manage minimum stock quantities/reorder points
- Maintain ambient & cold storage records & organization
- Receive and respond to warehouse owned equipment alarms (24/7/365) and move material as needed to an equivalent location and document per procedure
- Adhere to all OSHA and regulatory warehouse requirements
- Ensure routine warehousing operations, including staging, cycle count, receiving, storage, quarantine, and release of materials are performed in compliance with established procedures
- Identify and implement warehouse/inventory management improvements based on evidence-based needs and opportunities
- Work closely and effectively with critical stakeholders, include Project Leads, laboratory functions, Facilities, Procurement, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure uninterrupted lab operations
- Track and report warehouse operations through metrics and key process indicators (KPIs)
- Work closely with QA to author, edit, and/or review documents and procedures
- Perform deviation investigations and CAPAs when necessary
- Overseeing/Perform cycle counts, including quality checks
- Support/lead operational excellence initiatives
- Support additional assignments as determined by business needs
Requirements:
- Must be familiar with SOPs and cGMPs procedures
- Preferred GMP Warehouse Operations experience
- Experience with shipping/receiving packages using FedEx/UPS and other carriers domestically and internationally in accordance with IATA standards and guidelines
- IATA certified for Transportation of Hazardous Materials (Continuous training and certification will be provided)
- Clear understanding of Title 21 and 49 of the CFRs and EU GMPs
- Computer inventory experience and be familiar with purchasing.
- Hands on with shipping/receiving.
- Preferred 3 years of warehouse/material management experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
- Must be able to work a scheduled minimum 40 hours/week.
- Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures such as periodic entering cold environments i.e., 2-8°C, -20°C, -80°C.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Comfortable working with hazardous materials and chemicals in a safe manner.
- Comfortable operating equipment/machinery such as Forklift, Pallet Jack, Forklift Changer.
