Structured Materials Industries, Inc (SMI) (www.smicvd.com) has a position for an entreprenial Scientist who is looking to engage in cutting edge research work and the commercialization of wide bandgap semiconductor technologies for CVD grown materials such as other III-Nitrides, SiC Ga2O3, Boron Nitride, and Diamond.

Responsibilities:

• Epitaxial work for III-Nitride with focus on AlGaN epitaxial work and device fabrication. as well as SiC epitaxial work and device fabrication. Other materials of interest are BN, and Diamond that includes growth, characterization of grown materials, SPC, and other related work.
• Recipe design for the growth of SiC and III-Nitrides by MOCVD and BN and Diamond by PACVD (PECVD).
• Supporting Mentor’s team for improvement of process
• Supporting in design of MOCVD based reactors with the help of Mentor.
• Other daily tasks with mentor
• Writing proposals, patents, publications, projects progress reports, and presentations
• Work budgeting and estimating.
• Communications with collaborators, potential collaborators, officials, vendors etc.
• Developing epitaxial recipes for other materials as per need

Eligibility of Applicant:

• Candidate must have a Ph.D.
• Candidate must be a United States citizen or be a legal permanent resident
• Candidates with OPT are also eligible
• Must relocate to NJ

Exempt salary in first training year: Flexible $70,000.00 to $85,000 based on experience and other criteria

Travel/Conference: One domestic conference is anticipated per year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
