Knowledge Quest (KQ) is a nonprofit organization that has actively promoted youth andcommunity development in South Memphis for over twenty five years. The organization servesyouth and their families primarily residing in the 38126 and 38106 zip codes of Memphis, TN fromthree sites within a 2-mile corridor along Walker Avenue known as the “Knowledge Quest Kids Zone.” KQ’s mission is to vigorously equip youth and their families to maximize their potential through education, wellness and economic stability and its vision is to transform lives by expanding minds. Knowledge Quest operates through strategic programs: the KQ Extended Learning Academies; Family Stability Centers; and Green Leaf Learning Farm (featuring the JayUiberall Culinary Academy).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Curriculum Manager to join our team. The Curriculum and Strategy Development Manager is responsible for writing high quality standards aligned content along with developing and executing the strategic direction of the Extended Learning Academy. This person will also provide training and coaching to organization staff. This position reports to the Director of Programs. Job assignments will involve local travel.

Responsibilities:

• Write creative and engaging standards aligned curriculum content to teach and assess student learning grades Pre-K through 8th and support the academic engagement efforts of high school clubs.
• Collaborate with Learning Facilitators, Site Coordinators and Program Directors and to improve the quality of the Extended Learning Academy and KQ programs alignment toward a two-generational framework.
• Design lessons for student learners at all levels.
• Develop an evaluation framework to assess lesson plan implementation and pedagogical practices.
• Lead the program and student outcomes evaluation plan and data gathering processes.
• Research and align resources provide by TNDOE and other sources to ensure content correlation

to formal education settings in schools.

• Research or create all necessary and appropriate training materials for staff.
• Assess the needs and interest of staff as well as external partners to determine appropriate trainings/professional development opportunities to offer.
• Evaluate with staff the success of trainings.
• Ensure all program staff and volunteers receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and restorative programs of the organization.
• Design, adjust or improve orientation process where needed.
• Support and monitor programs of the Extended Learning Academies in accordance with the strategic direction of the organization.
• Manage direct program delivery partnerships of the Extended Learning Academy sites.
• Build strategic partnerships and formally represent the organization within cross sector

contexts.

• Maintain records to document program activities for data analysis purposes.
• Maintain records to document training in compliance with organizational and funding standards.
• Collaborate with other staff to develop the Summer Camp, K-8 Clubs, and High School Clubs curricula and strategic direction of efforts toward delivery of a successful programs and activities.
• Communicate with stakeholders to gain community support and solicit input for improvements.
• Support the compilation of proposals, reports and updates for parents, stakeholders and funders.
