  • Description

    BUILD IT- Responsible for a clean, orderly, and meticulously organized work area, and maintaining accurate inventory counts and material consumption used by all departments in the organization. The successful candidate will process bills of materials and create kits of parts that include pumps, valves, pipe fittings, electrical and mechanical components, wiring, conduit, etc. for use in production adhering to established service level agreements within the business.

    OWN IT- Equally responsible for processing expedited orders placed by customers and by Service Operations to support technicians and engineers at customer sites. Will work diligently with purchasing, production, and receiving to resolve inventory discrepancies, taking ownership of the process. This person must be highly organized, dependable, have a keen eye for detail, accurate, not afraid of a challenge, and take great pride in their work.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS

    • Professional in all manner of communication with internal and external customers
    • Perform physical, daily, cycle counts of products and raw materials in stock and on the production floor and record the data in our inventory system
    • Reconcile discrepancies in physical count with quantities in the inventory database – this may include adjusting the inventory database and investigating the cause of inventory irregularities
    • Responsible for accuracy of intra-organizational inventory transactions
    • Establish and maintain order and cleanliness of stockroom and immediate work area
    • Verify inventory as it is received, stored and shipped, including documents, pick lists, packing lists and bills of lading
    • Assist Shipping & Receiving as requested; receiving material, matching packing slips and/or bills of lading for accuracy
    • Coordinate with facility leader for assigned task priorities and special situations relating to facility

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a natural ability to quickly and systematically work through problems, identify solutions and implement those solutions in a timely manner.
    • Advanced level reading and mathematics skills, be able to understand instructions – both written and oral.
    • Must have working knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts
    • Must be able to read a tape measure
    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Detail oriented with the ability to keep the inventory area clean and well organized
    • Flexible – The demands of the position are widely varied. Must have the ability to think on your feet, shift between jobs and assist in any area of the shop, at any time, as needed.
    • Excellent attendance a must – able to work overtime as needed.
    • Strong knowledge of safe work practices; employees must also demonstrate a willingness to embrace personal responsibility for safety on the job.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized
    • Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
    • Kneeling – Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
    • Crouching – Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
    • Reaching – Extending hands and arms in any direction
    • Standing – Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
    • Lifting – Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
    • Grasping – Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
    • Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
    • Hearing – Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
    • Repetitive motions – Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
    • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
    • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessary from temperature changes.
    • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
