    Position Summary : This Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for managing the inventory control processes- and procedures for LCEC;

    develop and maintain sound and effective inventory policies and procedures for material management and logistic processes that ensures the integrity and reliability of materials for all Cooperative facilities to include ongoing maintenance and construction programs.

    The inventory control supervisor also develops and reports department metrics. This position also promotes compliance with company policies and procedures and supervises the Inventory Control Analyst and the Inventory Control Specialist.

    Essential Functions

    • Ensure operational excellence including, but not limited to, continuous improvement, department goal development and attainment, defining and communicating expectations to direct reports, providing value-added services, and ensure work processes are aligned and followed consistently throughout the department.
    • Train and supervise a team of inventory control staff members to include providing guidance on best practices and ensuring adherence to protocols.
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory control within the warehouse to include management of processes; Establish effective inventory control best practices and operating procedures in conjunction with the warehouse supervisor and warehousing staff.
    • Utilize historical usage reports, lead-time data, work plans and material forecasts, along with established analytical processes, to determine appropriate safety stock levels and reorder points for all stock materials to ensure optimum inventory levels.
    • Ensure the proper requisitioning of materials, in the required quantities, on a timely basis to support business requirements;

    work closely with cross functional teams to ensure all material requests are accurate and complete; this includes recommending material alternatives to help ensure material needs are met.

    • Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to validate inventory accuracy and address variances promptly; responsible for critical spares management, supplier managed inventories, surplus and obsolescence management, investment recovery, and inventory total cost management.
    • Develop, implement and ensure short- and long-term goals for inventory control and warehouse teams are attained and align with the overall goals of the Supply Chain function.
    • Develop strategies to effectively meet the needs of internal customers while maintaining inventory financial thresholds;

    determine and maintain optimal inventory based on business needs; provide strong support to department budget processes.

    Identify and implement continual process improvements in inventory efficiencies and effectiveness; monitor and enhance the current procedures and processes to support warehousing operations as well as purchasing;

    recommend improvements in policies or procedures, as needed.

    Maintain close working relationships with cross functional teams to address supply chain challenges and improve overall warehouse performance;

    • Maintain a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk and protect continuity of supply.
    • Ensure compliance with cooperative policies and procedures; all applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures relating to supplier and / or vendor agreements and contracts;

    contract procedures, negotiations, and approval processes.

    • Assist with major storm restoration events, as needed. This may include extended working hours and working many days continuously without time off until power has been restored to a significant portion of LCEC's service territory.
    • Other Duties as assigned.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or closely related field. (Required) or
    • An equivalent combination of Associate's Degree in a related field, work experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. (Required)

    Experience

    • 5 to 7 years' progressive experience in inventory management / supply chain in an electric distribution cooperative or related utility system. (Required)
    • 2 to 5 years' experience supervising exempt and non-exempt personnel or taking a significant leadership role among peers and making a significant business impact. (Required)
    • Prior experience providing strong support to management in developing and managing operational and capital budgets, department headcount planning, and related metrics to gauge financial and operational performance against objectives. (Required)
    • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning and Operating Systems within Inventory, Purchasing and / or Supply Chain Modules. (Required)
    • Previous Experience supervising employees with a proven ability to drive employee engagement and develop employees for succession planning purposes. (Preferred)

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Knowledge of utility related materials and equipment for distribution and transmission facilities as well as materials and supplies used in the construction of distribution and transmission lines. (Required)
    • Knowledge of inventory management procedures and process management skills with ability to make and implement sound decisions;

    demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills; detail oriented; demonstrated change management aptitude and ability. (Required)

    • Effective leadership skills with the ability to effectively resolve employee, customers and vendor issues with a focus on teamwork (Required)
    • Proficiency in use of MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.) (Required)
    • Ability to understand, interpret, develop, and implement various proven analytical inventory control processes such as : reorder points, economic order quantity, identify obsolete and slow-moving inventory, as well as ABC analysis (Required)
    • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening to effectively interact with employees, management, vendors, subcontractors, and others. (Required)
    • Presentation skills including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations to all levels of the business (Required)
    • Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, document procedures, and training manuals (Required)
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and effectively manage stress and pressure in a frequently changing environment;

    ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and effectively in all situations (Required)
