Develops plans, policies, and teams to build relationships and liaise with government entities (federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) directs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Top Government Affairs Executive (Federal Level) manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Malamut & Associates is seeking an attorney with at least 1-3 years' experience to support the Government and Regulatory Affairs Department.
The ideal candidate(s) will participate in the representation of public sector clients, in areas including, but not limited to local government/municipal law. Individual(s) will maintain relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients.
Qualifications
- At least 1-3 years’ experience in direct handling of public sector clients
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Admission to New Jersey Bar
- Currently in Good Standing with the New Jersey State Bar
- No disciplinary history
- No history of professional negligence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong legal knowledge
- Strong organizational skills
- Municipal Law experience
- Tech savvy – ability to learn and use legal industry software applications.
