Top Global Ethics & Compliance Executive leads the overall development, direction, and promotion of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Designs and develops programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and to establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being a Top Global Ethics & Compliance Executive ensures that policies reflect domestic and international legal requirements and industry-specific codes governing ethical standards and comply with transparency reporting requirements. Communicates the organization's ethical standards with messaging and delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Top Global Ethics & Compliance Executive monitors compliance with policies and investigates and remediates any non-compliant actions. Responsible for maintaining confidential reporting systems allowing employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)certification. Typically reports to top management. The Top Global Ethics & Compliance Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Top Global Ethics & Compliance Executive typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Global Trade Compliance Leader

    Job Description Summary

    #TeamAAM is searching for a Global Trade Compliance Leader to contribute to our Supply Chain Management team within our Driveline organization. This role will be based out of our World Headquarters in Detroit, MI.

    The Global Trade Compliance Leader is responsible for creating, maintaining, monitoring, and facilitating Customs compliance functions, data management systems, special import trade programs, and overall import feasibility aspects of the import environment. This self-motivated and detail oriented individual will interact with the different departments within AAM and AAM service suppliers to ensure that AAM is paying the appropriate amount of duties and on a timely basis to CBP. This position is also required to interact with various U.S. Governmental agencies on behalf of AAM as required.

    Job Description

    • Function strategically with proposals, purchasing, sales, plants and other departments to support with their import and export needs
    • Strong operational experience with import and export shipments
    • Execute all necessary documentation needed for international export of goods. Review of Bureau of Industry and Security Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and denied parties screening.
    • Develop, record and forecast compliance to international trade agencies and regulations. Duties include utilizing the ACE Portal to submit AES filings.
    • Submission of classification and export control rulings through use of SNAP R portal
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the company Trade Policy
    • Responsible for post entry type functions
    • CTPAT Trade Compliance renewals/maintenance (ISA)
    • FTA handling and working/leading 3rd party service provider, analyzing duty spend and duty avoidance, etc.
    • Broker management
    • Duty impact strategies/planning studies
    • Development and facilitation of internal AAM training of departments
    • Import and export classification
    • Review legal reporting requirements and ensure timely and accurate submissions are made.
    • Create/maintain trade compliance procedures
    • Analyze KPI's, trade related reporting and identify process improvements
    • Lead Business review meetings Customs brokers, service providers and identify cost/process improvements
    • Create plans to implement and track cost savings initiatives
    • All other duties as assigned

    Required Skills and Education

    • 7 - 10 years' Trade Compliance experience
    • 5 - 7 years' Logistics experience
    • 3 - 5 years Customs Brokerage/Consultant experience
    • Technical Knowledge of U.S. CBP Regulations and Trade Program Requirements
    • HTS/Classification (automotive preferred) experience
    • Post Entry processing experience
    • ERP (i.e., Oracle, Plex preferred)
    • Basic understanding of Finance and Accounts Payable
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Flexible, able to meet tight deadlines, and team oriented work ethic
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Strong investigation and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Preferred Experience

    • Bi-lingual (Spanish, English strongly preferred)
    • U.S. Customs Broker's license
    • Certified Customs Specialist
    • Certified Export Specialist or Certified US Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO)
    • Some understanding of MX Customs Regulations
    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management
    • Ability to travel (domestic and international), as necessary
