Position: Gas Supply Scheduler/Analyst I
Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting with management of the natural gas supply plans for the local distribution companies, which may include tasks related to scheduling, confirmation, natural gas supply planning, purchasing, transaction data management, and contract management. This position requires a high level of real-time communication and coordination internally and externally to ensure reliable operations. Interface with operations groups, producers and marketers, upstream service representatives, and other business partners. This position may require working after regular office hours. Assist the Analyst, Senior Analyst, Lead Analyst, and Gas Supply Manager with support for other supply-related matters.
Responsibilities:
Meet daily deadlines to accurately nominate on interstate and intrastate natural gas pipelines utilizing their respective Electronic Bulletin Board systems on a timely and intraday basis.
Thoroughly understand transportation and storage contracts and dispatch appropriately based upon contract entitlements, receipt and delivery points, and capacity avoiding any overrun or other unforeseen incremental charges.
Prepare accurate and timely accounting month end close for areas of responsibility.
Provide backup coverage for all scheduling areas.
Track and interpret pipeline curtailments and operational issues using pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs) or by communicating directly with pipeline transportation representatives, and relay issues or concerns to the group promptly advising on potential impacts to deliverability.
Provide real-time guidance to trading desk regarding same day flows and operational limitations.
Daily balancing and scheduling of areas of responsibility in the gas management system.
Monitor and resolve volumetric discrepancies as well as process and document pipeline cuts in a timely manner.
Participate in on-call rotation. Occasional weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new tasks and information. Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed work while understanding how the outcomes affect customers and corporate strategies.
Self-motivated, problem solver with a high attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to handle simultaneous telephone calls, instant messages, and computer tasks associated with natural gas supply activities.

Strong computer skills including advanced Excel capabilities.
Proficiency with standard analytical and business software such as Microsoft Office.
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize, while meeting deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Access/PowerPoint/Word.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Previous scheduling and/or operations experience is preferred.
