    Position Summary
    The executive director is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the KCC Foundation in support of the College mission and success of its students. The executive director is responsible for all fundraising efforts of the Foundation; oversees and directly participates in alumni and donor development; and oversees administration of scholarship and Foundation grant programs. The executive director also ensures appropriate record keeping to manage Foundation funds and maintain compliance with applicable laws and rules. As an administrative employee of the College, the executive director is a member of the President’s Council and part of the Communications and Advancement Division, contributing to division priorities as assigned and ensuring that Foundation goals and activities align with broader institutional objectives regarding advancement and development.

    Kellogg Community College is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, a community of approximately 54,000 people. Leisure activities, natural resources and learning opportunities provide a foundation for residents. Located along the I-94 interstate, Battle Creek is within 30 minutes of Kalamazoo, 60 minutes of Lansing and Grand Rapids and within three hours of Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis.

    Physical Demands
    The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree obtained from an accredited college or university.
    • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in nonprofit management, marketing/communication, public relations, event planning, fundraising, and/or donor solicitation.

    Preferred but not Required
    • Master’s degree (MA, MS, MBA) or equivalent, obtained from an accredited college or university.
    • Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) or Certified Fund Raising Experience (CFRE).
    • Volunteer management experience.

    Proposed Salary
    According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2023-2024 annual salary range for a Chair/Director position, $76,543 to $95,678 to start.

    Description
    • Responsible for the development, implementation, management and stewardship of the Foundation’s resources, which may include:
      • individual and corporate gifts
      • major gifts
      • in-kind gifts
      • corporate and foundation grants
      • fundraising and friendraising activities and
      • special events.
    • Design, implement and facilitate the College’s donor and alumni engagement programs.
    • Work with the Vice President for Communications and Advancement, Foundation board members and various partners to identify, initiate, develop and strengthen strategic relationships, funding sources and innovative approaches to increase Foundation revenues.

    Description
    • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Foundation’s operations, including oversight of staff; development and evaluation of employees; budget controls; asset monitoring; records management; and compliance assurance.
    • Facilitate strategic planning for the Foundation in alignment with College priorities.
    • Assist in the cultivation, orientation, engagement and development of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and committees.
    • Provide communication to and meeting preparation for the Foundation’s Board of Directors and committees.
