Top Facilities Management Executive leads overall operations and develops the strategy and policies to deliver design, planning, implementation, construction, and maintenance of an organization's facilities and properties.     Position Summary


    Under general supervision of the Southwest Sites Regional Director, this position is responsible for supporting the management of Villa Louis facilities and infrastructure by monitoring and facilitating contractor activities, ensuring equipment, and building systems are operational, addressing maintenance needs, inventory control, and managing and implementing ground maintenance including performing landscaping and janitorial duties. This position also supports the WHS Facilities Development team by overseeing contractor and subcontractor activities related to capital projects and works with the Southwest Sites Regional Director to lead projects and facilities initiatives at the other three Southwest Sites: First Capitol, Pendarvis and Stonefield.


    Salary Information

    The salary will be between $28.00 - $32.00 per hour in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 07, range 04. The civil service classification is Facilities Management Specialist 1. A 12-month probationary period will be required.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS


    • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state-owned vehicle.
    • Ability to travel and work at other Southwest Historic Sites.
    • Ability to perform heavy manual and physically challenging work in all kinds of indoor and outdoor conditions and to use scaffolding and climb/work from ladders is required.
    • Ability to travel in a boat and supervise emergency response plans during Mississippi River flooding.


    Qualifications

    Minimally qualified candidate will have experience in all of the following:

    • Work with contractors, or as part of a contracted team, to perform construction projects
    • Proficient in carpentry, roofing, and masonry skills used to construct and maintain buildings
    • Experience in daily maintenance of buildings and grounds
    • Experience with the maintenance, repair, and safe use of vehicles, tools, and equipment
    • Experience with performing janitorial care of buildings and/or offices
    • Experience with lawn and grounds care

    In addition to minimum qualifications, a well-qualified candidate will additionally have experience in two of the following areas:

    • Leading construction teams and facilitating and monitoring construction and projects performed by outside contractors, staff, and volunteers
    • Restoration carpentry, roofing, log construction, and masonry techniques required for the maintenance of historic buildings
    • Overseeing the maintenance of facilities including planning, assigning and monitoring daily and seasonal maintenance of buildings and grounds
    • Overseeing maintenance, repair, and safe use of vehicles, tools and equipment performed by staff and contracted service providers
    • Knowledgeable in historic preservation and restoration
