Position Summary: The Executive Vice President for Solutions Integration Unit is a high-level leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic direction, development, and execution of systems engineering initiatives within the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in systems engineering, a proven track record of successful leadership, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and efficiency in complex technical environments. Direct reports will be VP Engineering, VP Product Management & Construction and Applications and Estimation Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and articulate the vision, strategy, and goals for the Solutions Integration Unit in alignment with the overall organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with other executive leaders to ensure integration and alignment of systems engineering initiatives with broader business strategies.
- Interfaces with all other Business Units, Division heads, Sales, Finance, HR, Legal, Suppliers, Sub-contractors, Agents, Customers.
Project Oversight
- Responsible for Proposals, Application, Estimation, Engineering, Project Management and Installation.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex systems engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with managers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Team Management
- Lead a high-performing team of systems engineers, architects, and technical experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Technology Roadmap
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap that outlines the evolution of systems engineering capabilities, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of systems engineering processes.
Collaboration and Communication
- Foster strong collaboration between Solutions Integration Unit and other departments, promoting a cohesive and integrated approach to achieve organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with executives, stakeholders, and team members, providing updates on progress, challenges, and successes.
Risk Management
- Identify and assess risks related to systems engineering projects and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Implement robust quality control measures to ensure the reliability and stability of systems.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the budget for the Solutions Integration Unit, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
- Proficient understanding of basic financial statements (Income Statements and balance sheets)
- Take action within Business Unit to improve each customer account and make recommendations to company management.
- Must assume profit and loss responsibility for the Solutions Integration.
Regulatory Compliance
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to systems engineering and ensure the organization's compliance with relevant requirements including warranty, customer, employee, policy, and people.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience (typically 15 years) in systems engineering, with a proven track record of leadership in complex technical environments.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in systems engineering.
Preferred Requirements/Skills That Set You Apart:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or MBA.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Structural Engineer (SE) license (if relevant to area of discipline).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at desk using a computer and phone system.
- Regularly required to move around the facility.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Comply with all safety regulations.
