  • About this role:

    IT Service Operations (ITSO) is at the forefront of supporting enterprise needs for reliability and productivity by ensuring infrastructure and engineering enablement tool availability, driving application performance, and ensuring customer experience is consistent. We are seeking the Technology Executive to lead the Observability and Foundational Automation (OFA) organization, reporting directly to the Technology Executive, CTO Division. OFA is a global organization responsible for application and infrastructure observability, monitoring, logging and scheduling across the firm and is at the center of Wells Fargo's technology transformation initiatives. The Technology Executive will lead a broad team of engineering and product professionals managing cloud Observability Services, Agile/Product implementation, engineering, and architecture required to enable our transformation. The successful candidate will have a track record of advocating for customer experience, amplifying customer empathy throughout definition, discovery, and delivery. They will set the overall vision and strategy for the products by aligning to the enterprise vision and strategy across application modernization, continued stability enhancements, and cloud migration. This leader will work closely with peers and partners to ensure alignment with the overall ITSO, CTO and Wells Fargo Technology strategy and must be able to collaborate with senior leaders in the organization to foster agreement while driving towards the overall goals to be executed.

    Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
    • Own and manage the technical direction and adoption of a wide range of toolsets.
    • Manage and establish the strategy for continued innovation across the toolsets and embedding them into our toolchains.
    • Partner with finance and constituents across the firm to ensure multi-year funding and resourcing.
    • Collaborate with product line teams to define product objectives and key results linked to the Wells Fargo and divisional strategic plans.
    • Define, create, socialize, and execute against the Product objectives and key results (OKRs).
    • Identify and define metrics and goals to guide the organization.
    • Partner with Architecture to ensure designs meet enterprise standards.
    • Bring Risk and Control process to product-line daily work practices.
    Required Qualifications:
    • 8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
    • 4 years of Management experience
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Digital Product Management experience, Engineering Management or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
    • Experience collaborating with vendor engagements and business partners.
    • Experience with some/all the strategic tools owned by the team - specifically including CI/CD integration (of the tools), cloud native logging, Terraform, cloud native monitoring, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Grafana, AppDynamics, Elastic APM, Autosys.
    • Considerable experience in stakeholder and client management.
    • Software engineering and automation background.
    • Must have strong executive presentation and relationship building skills. Ability to present a message clearly and succinctly to business leaders, product leaders and very large and executive audiences.
    • Extensive experience in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
    • Strong expertise in risk controls self-assessment and implementing effective risk management strategies.
    • Career experience in both application development (preferably CIO level) as well as leading operational support for applications - bringing experience of using and implementing these toolsets and influencing their use from both the development and support sides.
    • Policy, controls, risk and audit and regulator experience at a detailed level of technical understanding across the product set as well as experience owning and managing risk and controls.
    • Agile methodologies, including deep experience with JIRA.
    • Global team leadership.
    • Financial management including budget oversight and business case development.
    • Organizational, team and talent development skills.
    • Highly developed communication and influencing, globally and across lines of business, to clients and stakeholders.
    • Vendor Management including influencing vendor roadmaps.
    • Experience with OTEL and Telemetry protocols.
    • Communication skills are vital to convey complex technical concepts to non-technology stakeholders. Continuous innovation and staying abreast of industry trends are essential.
    • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of technology support: large information technology (IT) environment, multiple computing environments, operating systems, and hardware platforms.
    • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: web and services platforms along with system integration: engineering or platform engineering experience.
    • Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, security, and privacy requirements within the financial services sector.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams through transformational change.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
    • Transformation experience within large matrixed organizations and how to simplify the organization.
    • Understanding of complex organizational design and different approaches towards organizational design.
    • Understanding of financial and budgeting practices and how an enterprise would operate in a product-centric manner.
    • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing, and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.
    • Expert Finance domain knowledge.
    • High level understanding of enterprise and domain architecture.
    • Knowledge of cloud technologies (GCP/Azure) and experience in hybrid cloud AI/ML Infrastructure, data platforms and multi-tenant architecture.
    Pay Range
    $249,500.00 - $518,300.00
