Top Domestic Ethics & Compliance Executive develops, directs, and promotes the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Designs and develops programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and to establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Top Domestic Ethics & Compliance Executive ensures that policies reflect domestic and international legal requirements and industry-specific codes governing ethical standards and comply with transparency reporting requirements. Communicates the organization's ethical standards with messaging and deliver employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Top Domestic Ethics & Compliance Executive monitors compliance with policies and investigates and remediates any non-compliant actions. Responsible for maintaining confidential reporting systems allowing employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)certification. Typically reports to top management. The Top Domestic Ethics & Compliance Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Compliance Executive - Conduct Risk

  • The Conduct Risk Compliance Executive will directly report to the Company's Chief Compliance Officer and will provide leadership, strategic guidance, and credible challenge for the design, development, and implementation of conduct risk-based programs of the most significant risk to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the enterprise and/or multiple, complex business lines and risk domains. They will establish enterprise-wide Conduct Risk Appetite, requirements, and protocols supporting sound risk decisions aligned with all risk and compliance program requirements. They will drive enterprise strategy and establish and administer long-term goals for managing conduct risk. They will be considered a subject matter expert regarding interpretation.

    The Conduct Risk Compliance Executive will provide risk expertise and issue resolution guidance for enterprise programs, projects, and initiatives of the most significant risk across the enterprise to ensure timely resolution. They will interact with senior leaders, the board, operating committee, management committee, control function leaders, and regulators to foster transparency and awareness of conduct- related activities. They will represent the organization in the external community.

    This leader will provide independent oversight and challenge to the front-line monitoring of conduct risk programs and independent oversight over the adequacy and effectiveness of conduct policies, procedures, processes, and systems of internal controls for conduct risk across the enterprise. They will evaluate key conduct risk and performance indicators to identify emerging trends across the enterprise and/or significant businesses, risk domains, and the industry. They will establish and maintain communication protocols to foster information sharing and collaboration with front line and other IRM functions. They will promote a strong conduct risk culture and provide leadership through leaders and senior managers and their teams.

    As a leader, you will lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. You will accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing, and developing team members, identifying, and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. You will coordinate resources across other areas of Corporate Risk to share knowledge, develop wider career pathing, and ensure high integrity and credibility in all resources.

    Specific responsibilities include:
    • Manage a corporate-wide framework designed to assess, monitor and report on conduct risk management
    • Drive toward enterprise consistency for conduct risk management
    • Implement risk appetite metrics to monitor and escalate conduct risks holistically
    • Ensure alignment with units that manage other drivers of conduct, e.g., incentive compensation, performance management, etc.
    • Develop consistent, timely and relevant management reporting of conduct risk processes
    • Sustain a strong risk culture that identifies and provides oversight and escalation of existing and emerging conduct risk issues across business groups, legal entities, geographies, and jurisdictions; ensure that escalated conduct risk issues receive immediate senior management attention
    • Create a culture of excellence by proactively attracting, retaining, and developing a team of talented and diverse compliance professionals to support the execution of the Enterprise Compliance Program across the Conduct Risk organization
    • Provide input to the development, maintenance and implementation of applicable risk frameworks, policies and standards and risk appetite thresholds as they relate to conduct risk
    • Support the identification of material and emerging risks for conduct risk by providing integrity and expertise and participating in regular and comprehensive conduct risk identification exercises
    • Aggregate and monitor conduct risk profile across the enterprise for business activities
    • Provide aggregated reporting for CCO, Wells Fargo Operating Committee and the Wells Fargo Board of Directors
    • Escalate conduct risk concerns and issues to Senior Management, as appropriate
    • Lead relationships with regulatory agencies on topics specific to conduct risk
    • Oversee the front line's execution and challenges appropriately on conduct risk related decisions
    • Manage an aspect of the companywide compliance program for a business group or functional area with moderate risk and complexity, or oversee and monitor specific elements of the companywide compliance program
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
    • Foster an environment that ensures strong communication and cooperation across the three lines of defense, including business line leadership, Legal, Audit, Compliance, and other corporate stakeholders to facilitate transparency, balance, and credible challenge
    • Provide vision and set direction for Conduct Risk including multiple high impact initiatives to achieve long term strategic objectives that impact management across functions
    • Direct and oversee complex regulatory environments including establishing standards
    • Provide compliance risk and regulatory subject matter expertise for a defined set of moderate risk compliance program elements
    • Provide reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies, or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management
    • Engage regularly with the Legal Department on current and emerging compliance risks, and interact routinely with Audit and regulators on compliance related topics
    • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
    • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
    • Lead team to achieve objectives
    • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Compliance
    The Candidate

    Required Qualifications:
    • 8 years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
    • 4 years of Management experience

    • Proven expertise in risks faced by financial institutions and solid understanding of conduct risk
    • Evidenced ability to work collaboratively with teams spread across the enterprise
    • Extensive experience partnering and communicating with regulators, auditors, and other oversight bodies
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex ideas in a straightforward manner and inspire large teams and effectively influence internal and external constituencies
    • Deep understanding of the governance and regulatory environments as well as industry and compliance risk-related best practices
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results
    • High leadership, integrity, credibility

    Pay Range
    $207,900.00 - $431,900.00
